Please fill in the information below to make a territory request.
Territory ID and proposed name
The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country

UL05iƨ - Etq Wqenesn

This is a request to relocate the current mapping in AN330ƨ to a more suitable (i.e. tropical) location. Following relocation, I'll remap the islands in AN330 to reflect their more isolated and southerly (sub-tropical) location.

Physical geography
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. With the exception of Beginner territories, you should always create a sketch map to illustrate & explain your plans. You can add a link to this (hosted on imgBB, Postimages or similar, but not imgur.com)

Tropical Island, as currently mapped. Coastal settlements, high point about 500m, coral reefs etc.

Human geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Mid-size urban and small rural communities, as currently mapped (keeping the good, discarding the bad).

History & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

Asperic oceanic with colonial influences. Reflecting similar themes in nearby territories.

Past mapping
To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful.
The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL.

  • Hello, Udi. Thank you for the application. I would like a few things cleared up before beginning to review the application. Can you please provide a map of the proposed layout of the territory and its interaction with the existing islands in the area? Your current territory in Antarephia is multiple islands, whereas UL05i is a single island of different size. I'm concerned also about the island geography, given the volcanic islands to the west (one of which is owned), and the atolls to the east. Continuity there will be important. Please also address what would happen to the extant mapping in UL05i should you receive the territory. Lastly, could you clarify what you mean by "Asperic oceanic" with regards to culture? The current application is scant on details, so anything you can provide to help us better assess the regional fit would be appreciated. Thanks! — Alessa (talk) 00:53, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
    • Hi Alessa. Really I don't have a fixed concept for how it would be mapped in outline - I usually make this up as I go along (sorry!). Would it be better to keep it as one island? Totally possible, easily reworked to be like this. It would probably be reasonable to reduce the main island area a bit, keeping some peaks and potentially some smaller offshore islands? I'd like to keep some of current mapping in UL05i, the castle, airport, most of the better mapped fine scale infrastructure, some legacy names. 'Asperic Oceanic' echoes some of isleño's original concept, something riffing on polynesia and hawaii (see Onnutu, Tavauru). Overall the application is really just to avoid deleting some of the reasonable mapping from Olufsen that I previously rejigged.Ūdilugbulgidħū (talk) 14:05, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
      • Hi, Udi. It is customary to ask for a visual layout of how things are going to go (no matter how crude), but I understand what you mean. This is a small territory, so I'm less interested in the details of how the human geography is going to lay out as much as how we are going to fit the existing mapping from AN330 into the UL05i space. You touched on part of what I was wondering: are you looking to do one island grouping or move everything from AN330? I assume if you were to do one "island," you would take the eastern archipelago of the current AN330ƨ and leave the western roundish island behind. That makes sense to me, as I am having a very difficult time visualizing how that western round island would fit in anywhere right now. This is where a simple diagram would help if you're wanting to move it. That said, I'm also skeptical of moving the western round island; it has a topo map to it, it is perfectly fine where it is in a lot of ways, and I don't want to outright remove an AN territory without making sure the other admin are on board. If we're leaving it behind and just moving the eastern part of the territory to a new location, then we have a much different and more seamless discussion. Thank you! — Alessa (talk) 22:46, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
        • Hi Alessa. I should have been clearer - yes, it's just the eastern island I mean. It would probably be simplest to fit the mapping in AN330 to the existing island at UL05i. Perhaps with the current north-west peninsula becoming a separate island, but closer to the main one than the current minor island in AN330 is. What do you think? Ūdilugbulgidħū (talk) 14:10, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
          • Thanks for clearing that up, Udi. A few more minor details. (1) My other concern that a diagram would have solved is the size of UL05i. The island itself (using the northwest to southeast long axis) is roughly 54km by 34km. That's substantially smaller than what you have mapped right now in the eastern island grouping of AN330. Of course, I understand that you are going to be remaking it into a coral atoll, so it will look different than you have now in the existing territory and in the territory-to-be-acquired. Is this size going to be sufficient? I would like to keep the territory size about the same with no more than a slight upsize of 2–5km toward the east. (2) If I am understanding this properly, this would be a fifth territory for you. Since they're principally island territories and very small I'm not super concerned, but that limit has been discouraged in the past. So, just for housekeeping and a written record of this, I want to ensure that you feel capable of keeping up with all five territories. (3) In moving the contents out of AN330's eastern grouping, are you deleting them altogether and redefining the territory to just the western island? Or, are you planning to repurpose that territorial area for new mapping? I want to make sure that is fully clear for the Antarephia admins, because a valid and strong suggestion came from one of them to relinquish AN330 in exchange for the new territory. Thank you. — Alessa (talk) 01:24, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
Further talking with them, I will relay that relinquishing AN330 is their quite strong preference, and I think we should find a way to honor that. If needed, putting the western island as an overseas territory of a collab to retain access and the topo was offered as an idea. — Alessa (talk) 01:59, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi Alessa
  1. As you say, the area of UL05i is very small. But looks like the existing AN330 mapping fits in UL05i. Not sure this is the best/ultimate configuration, but it could be something like this.
  2. & 3. The application is to relocate the mapping from (east island) AN330, in order to preserve it. I certainly don't want to relinquish AN330 - quite the opposite. I want to develop other mapping in both islands of AN330, but rather than wipe the old mapping I'm keen to see the parts that have some character go somewhere else, and somewhere more fitting, if that's possible. In terms of keeping up with the mapping on the various territories I'm working on, yes, hopefully at least as much as before.
.
I'll just add that making a topo for an offshore island is relatively simple, way more simple than making a topo continental area. All the islands I've mapped have topos. I find it hard to map without one At some point I'll get organised enough to get them to Luciano to upload. Ūdilugbulgidħū (talk) 17:25, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Thank you, Udi. I appreciate your patience with this. I am going to approve it. After discussing it with the AN-overseeing admin, I am going to leave any discussion of AN330 or other things to them. My statement about the size of the territory stands, however. While I understand the shape will change, we are going to approve with the understanding and enforcement that there to be no material increase in size. Your diagram has me convinced that you will be able to fit things in creatively. Thanks. — Alessa (talk) 02:38, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
