UL30h - Chika Region

	Physical geography

The Chika region is an expansion of Taira. Chika is a mountainous southern region of Taira, with much of the land area being covered in dense forests and mountains. The total land area of Chika is 11701 km^2, which brings the total area of Taira up to around 95292 km^2 Chika will be primarily composed of 3 or 4 subdivisions, with some existing land going to other prefectures. The little exclave in the north will be given to Murotama.

The weather in the year will be mild and sunny in warmer months with occasional rain, and heavy snow and rain will be present in winter months. The average altitude of Chika will be very high, being around 600-700m above sea level, and the peaks will be around just under 2000m in elevation. Mountain ranges will follow those outlined on the forum post, and will be indicated in the diagram. The only flat, suitable areas for human inhabitation will be on the plains of river valleys of the 3 main rivers of Chika, being the Akashionomoto, the Himeshi, and the Akamo.

Chika will be mostly inspired by Japan's mountainous, inland prefectures such as Yamanashi or Gifu, and also partially by areas in Taiwan or Southern China.

Almost all of the population would be settled along the banks of the 3 main rivers. The region would have a total population of around 1-1.5 million people, placing the population density at around 90-130 people per km^2. Koza would be split into the 4 subdivisions of 3 autonomous regions of Sakagawa, Furukawa, and Yuran, and the prefecture of Kamimatsuoka. The largest city in the region would be Amagabe in the northeast along the Akashionomoto river.

The region would be one of the poorer regions of Taira, having an average HDI of 0.794 among the 4 subdivisions. The industry would be mainly fueled by mining. There will be very limited infrastructure due to the terrain, with only 1 or 2 motorways throughout the region, and a few railways or trunk roads throughout the area. The infractructure will be built mainly on the rivers.

	History & culture

Chika was settled by humans around the 1st century BCE, when Hanawabori people migrated to the region from the east. Due to it's isolation due to the Ryuzoji range, the region has the highest native Hanawabori population in Taira, with around 80% of the population being native Hanawabori. The region is one of the birthplaces of Tairan Hanawabori culture, with many historical sites such as the Great Tomb and the Great Temple to Buddha.

The language of Chika will be primarily standard Tairan, however the dialect of the Koza dialect will be prominent in the area.

The primary religion of the Chika region is Hanawabori Dharmapala, which came from the eastern regions of the Rinyo peninsula. 82% of the Chika population follows Hanawabori Dharmapala. 11% are irreligious, and the other 7% are spread out between mainly Kan'no and Christic.
