Forum:Valonne/Province 05
As the coordinator I've mapped some barebone infrastructure for the -05 province in southwestern Valony. The province is collaborative as a side note, meaning everyone participating in the project is welcome to map there. Some things about the province:
- It is home to the tallest peak of Valony, also one of the tallest peaks in West Uletha.
- Likewise, the alpine regions spanning the western national boundary is probably the widest in this region. The mountains are taller than the Alps.
- I was going for a Swiss and Lombardian feel with alpine lakes at the foothills made after receding glacial activity. I would like to hear feedback whether these lakes are realistic as they are right now, in terms of size, direction, placement, etc.
- The region is the largest in the country, with 85 thousand km2. Identical to Nouvelle Aquitaine.
- I am having trouble finding reliable sources for the tectonic activity in the Alps to recreate similar ridge and valley lines, that is, determining how they work in the Alps. Amongst other features, I am referring to the invisible mostly straight line of valleys one can draw from Martigny - Visp - Hospental - Chur - Landeck - Innsbruck - Kufstein. I am not sure whether this line is due to tectonic activity or just a coincidence, but I believe it would be interesting to try to create something similar. I've aligned the rivers to match an imaginary tectonic line going from here to here.
Any ideas or thoughts? I welcome users not only to suggest things but also freely adjust and map elements they deem need change. Likewise, if anyone is inspired into mapping Alpine valleys and picteresque lakeside towns, this is the perfect area for that.

Discussion (FR/EN)
If anyone has name ideas for the province, first and foremost, please suggest them here. Likewise, name ideas for the largest and other cities/lakes/mountains/etc. are also all welcome. ── Bixelkoven (talk) (West Uletha Admin) 23:34, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
I can throw a suggestion for the province's name: Ivenne or Erbagne, taken from Proto-Celtic *enter, *bandā and *wintos (a tribe between the peak's winds), which combined and eroded over time could form such names. Mie (talk) 11:44, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
