*Sorry about those previous application's I did, I really just wanted a new territory because I couldn't get hang with the style. As I'm native latgalian, I think I'll stay with this territory for a much longer time; as I also want to detail the capital a LOT. An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. With the exception of Beginner territories, you should always create a sketch map to illustrate & explain your plans. You can add a link to this (hosted on imgBB, Postimages or similar, but not imgur.com)

Topography

The southern part of Ūdraine is dominated by a low-lying, ancient mountain range that stretches across the border with neighboring countries. These mountains, worn down over the years, rise gently and are covered with dense forests and meadows. While not particularly rugged, they provide a natural barrier and contribute to the region's biodiversity. The highest point in Ūdraine, Klonda (literally "Crown"), stands at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level and is located within this southern range.

Rivers and waterways

One of Ūdraine's most prominent geographical features is the Kamenava River, known locally as the Kamēnis. It flows through the eastern part of the state, hosting the countries capital on it's shores. It has numerous tributaries contributing to the fish habitat.

Climate

Ūdraine experiences a temperate continental climate, with cold winters and mild summers. The southern mountains influence precipitation patterns, often trapping moist air masses and resulting in higher rainfall in this region compared to the rest of the country. Snowfall is common during the winter months, especially in elevated areas like Mount Klonda.

Resources

Ūdraine's geology is rich in mineral resources, including limestone, clay, and minor deposits of metals such as iron and copper. These materials have historically supported local industries, including construction and craftsmanship. Additionally, the abundant forests provide timber, which remains an important economic resource.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Demographics

The country boasts a population of around 2.3 million, with a large part of it living in the capital (~750k), while the rest lives in countryside towns and other cities (and villages). Most settlements are on streams and rivers, and usually primary roads meet at them. There are a few cities.

Other nationalities live as minorities in the capital and cities.

Economy

The economy is pretty nice, with a GDP per capita of around 30k. (GDP: 80b) It focuses mainly on timber and resource exports and slightly tourism.

Infrastructure

Electricity is distributed by a dozen of higher voltage electricity towers, while in more rural area's electricity poles dominate.

Ūdraine boasts one of the more advanced road networks in the region, designed to ensure efficient movement of people and goods across the country. This infrastructure plays a pivotal role in supporting economic growth and fostering regional integration.

Motorways (2+2)

  • Ūdraine’s primary motorways connect major cities. These highways feature two lanes in each direction, separated by a median barrier, and are built to international standards.

Expressways (1+1, 1+2)

  • Expressways serve as secondary arteries, providing access to other parts of the countries, could be called failed or proposed motorways.

Local, Other (1+1)

  • Local roads form the backbone of Ūdraine’s rural transportation system, ensuring that even isolated villages remain accessible. These roads are typically narrower but well-maintained, reflecting the government’s commitment to nationwide connectivity.

Public Transport

  • In addition to road networks, Ūdraine operates a reliable public transit system, including intercity buses and regional trains. The Kamēnis River also supports limited water-based transport in certain sections, particularly for tourism and freight.

Rail

  • While I haven't put much thought in the rail infra, I think there will be some lines connecting cities and some towns.

Road "Ref"

Motorway's and Trunk's will follow (A-x) ref, primary - P-x, Secondary - V-x and Tertiary - C-x (or just number in some municipalities)

A brief description of the intended culture and language

The language is supposed to be latgalian, with some lithuanian diaspora in the north, and more central europe slavic in the southwest.

All I've thought about the history is that the state gained independence from a larger state, like 14f, or was an independent kingdom/principality throughout the middle ages until today.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful.
The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL.
