Hi All,
I am doing some cleaning in Guai, and this includes reviewing terms I used some years ago. Among these terms is geolympic and its various derivations: geolympian, geolympics, geolympiad...As Pax Nova (Games) replaced it, I wonder if some of you have translated the Latin phrase to your languages or colangs? And if so, are you using derivations for naming map features (e.g. olympic-size swimming pool)?

I have started to replace geolímpiki by eréniki from Ancient Greek εἰρήνη/peace in my mapping so OGF may not be subject to copyright issues. Irenic already existing, I opted for conserving the original /eː/ instead of the more "recent" /i/ so that erenic/érénique/erénico/erenisch may be used. Alternatively, ereneic/érénéique/erenéico/ereneisch may be chosen instead to make it look/sound a bit less similar. I also thought about using Ecechiria (ἐκεχειρία/ the Olympic truce) but ecechiric/écéchirique/ecequírico/ekecheirisch didn't sound that appealing. Any thought about an Erenic Stadium/Ereneic Stadium or swimming pool, or Joe Doe being an Erenian/Erenean ? --Aiki (talk) 16:29, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
