Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

The region is mostly populated by the Sannese, speakers of the Sannese langauge (Latin-Inspired conlang). The region's economy is mostly agricultural but oil deposits have been found and technology has been growing in prevalence in their big cities.

A brief description of the intended culture and language

The nation has a long history of wars and nobles, evident by the medieval castles spread around the countryside. They speak Sannese, a language known for its sheer amount of nasalization and large quantity of phonemes.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

I've mapped a few places before, I have heard from others they were quite good but those people were not mods.

  • Hi, I would recommend requesting a BG beginner territory. These are intended as sandboxes to both build up experience and show case mapping for a well developed application. In an application we're really looking for a good sketch to explain the plans, along with solid realistic mapping. See Help:Making realistic countries, Help:Making realistic cities and the scale helper. You can also find the required themes/cultures for an area on the territory application page, and territories overview - the one you are requesting is New World Spanish inspired. Anyway, let me know thoughts on BG territory. Thanks/wangi (talk) 21:19, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
  • I don’t really want a BG Beginner territory. I feel like I’ve already proved myself through my contributions to Mecyna and I feel like a non-BG territory suits me better, I feel like it’ll also be more fun and interesting for me. I also do have plans but I can’t put them well in words, but I’ll try though… Basically it’s a mix of Saskatchewan and Spain, being sparsely populated with massive swaths of plains with no trees in sight (and lots of straight line borders), yet with a rich history too. For the administrative divisions I’m planning on doing something similar to Saskatchewan too, with Divisions further subdivided into Villages, Towns, and Cities with Rural municipalities surrounding them. I am well aware of the cultural themes of the region and will follow them, of course with my own twist on them. I’m also aware of how to create realistic highway maps, biomes, and cities. If you need any more clarifications, ask me. Berdly (talk) 21:54, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Mapping needs improved before a future application, and would recommend a BG territory for this. An application needs to be developed in more detail (geography, history, culture, language), with a good sketch to illustrate the proposal. And where there are themes present, the application should conform to them (hint: Latin conlang with "long history of wars and nobles, evident by the medieval castles spread around the countryside" isn't compatible with a New World continent and a Spanish speaking area within it. Past mapping should evidence you can map what you are applying for. Thanks/wangi (talk) 22:10, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
