I propose that it have a CFB Koppen Climate type. That said, it is on the warmer end of that, so snow in the winter is rare, if at all. The climate will be on the wetter side (though this may be subject to change as more climate maps are developed for the overall  region).

Topography is mostly quite flat. The islands have been worn down by erosion for a long time, and many of the western ones are half-sunk into the sea (see the current intertidal wetlands). There are a few small hills (less than 500m in height) on the largest, easternmost island, decreasing in height going west, to the smallest (less than 100m) on the westernmost island.

The landscape is (in the past), forested, but now, is about 60-80% converted to agriculture and grasslands due to extensive deforestation by both the Franquese and Ingerish.

{{territory application human geography}}

Demographics will be mostly Ingerish population, but with a fair amount of Franquese too. However, economic development was not very good. It was mainly agriculture-based for a long time until... [NOTE: If the community thinks this is unfeasible, it will be removed] oil deposits were found within the EEZ to the NW of the easternmost island. After that, the economic state of the Hartman Islands improved greatly. However, there is still a siginificant export of agricultural products (Exact crops are TBD).

Though most of the islands remain rural, the eastern island is quite heavily urbanized for the main capital city. As for infrastructure, there will be no or less than 10 km of motorway in the entire province. Likewise, there will be very little rail, with any being concentrated on the industry-heavy east island. The capital city will have a small LRT system but no trains. There will be an international airport for the capital city but only regional airfields for other islands as they have very small populations. Travel between islands is almost always done by ferries. However, since the islands are about 250 km apart, small commuter flights may be used.

{{territory application history and culture}}

The islands were inhabited by {the AR040-ish Indigenous Populations} for 3,000-5,000 years before first contact with the Franquese. The Franquese said "Oh look, A random set of islands. Let's claim it!" I'm not sure just how colonialist the Franquese and Ingerish were, but they then

- Converted the indigenous population to the Christic faith

- Chopped down all or most of the trees to sell back to Franqland (or whatever it is)

- Set up the farms

- Most likely kicked the indigenous population off of the land, most likely on to a reserve or perhaps even one island out of the five.

In the 1800s, the Ingerish were warring with the Franquese, and they thought "Hey, let's go to war for some poor little islands!" And they did, after a few battles lead by Rear Admiral Hartman, the islands were changed from their previous name (Îles vides) to their present name, the Hartman Islands. The Ingerish really wanted to drive in their victory, so they tried to scrub much of the Franquese influence as they could from the islands. [ NOTE: Because of this, I intend the Capital City to have an anglicized Franquese name or a very Ingerish name ]. Despite this, some Franquese influence still remains, and much of the population still speaks Franquish. The culture and language will be mostly Ingerish.

:Ateria as a whole is too close to and too similar to Agawaskway to become a collaborative territory. Additionally, provinces should not be subdivided, and in standing with FSA precedent for these types of collaborative projects, a single mapper cannot solely own two territories in a single project. However, I can offer you two options instead:
# Trade in all of Ateria for AR060-14 in a 1:1 territory swap, or
# Find other mappers to assist with AR060-14 and officially "co-own" AR060-14 as a partnership with one or more additional mappers.

An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

I propose that it have a CFB Koppen Climate type. That said, it is on the warmer end of that, so snow in the winter is rare, if at all. The climate will be on the wetter side (though this may be subject to change as more climate maps are developed for the overall region).

My plan

Topography is mostly quite flat. The islands have been worn down by erosion for a long time, and many of the western ones are half-sunk into the sea (see the current intertidal wetlands). There are a few small hills (less than 500m in height) on the largest, easternmost island, decreasing in height going west, to the smallest (less than 100m) on the westernmost island.

The landscape is (in the past), forested, but now, is about 60-80% converted to agriculture and grasslands due to extensive deforestation by both the Franquese and Ingerish.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

There will be an international airport for the capital city but only regional airfields for other islands as they have very small populations. Travel between islands is almost always done by ferries. However, since the islands are about 250 km apart, small commuter flights may be used.

A brief description of the intended culture and language

The islands were inhabited by {the AR040-ish Indigenous Populations} for 3,000-5,000 years before first contact with the Franquese. The Franquese said "Oh look, A random set of islands. Let's claim it!" I'm not sure just how colonialist the Franquese and Ingerish were, but they then

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Discussion for clarification & decision

Now, there is one big problem with this entire application. That is, that I already own a territory. That territory is not 50% complete, and I realize that will present a very large issue. As a result of this, I expect that this initial application will most likely be rejected on this basis.

Do note however, that I would be open to and comfortable with

  • Converting Ateria to a collaborative area
  • Splitting Ateria into a smaller area
