In a few weeks the FSA February 2024 Omnibus Ballot will take place and as part of that I would like to finalise the name of the Western Mountain Range. There are already a selection of old suggestions here but it's a long, outdated list that could benefit from being reduced in size and refreshed with currently popular names.

To that end I would invite you to nominate a name for the ballot that you think will be popular. It could be from the old list or something new you have thought up.

  • I will start by nominating the Cordilleras, which I know is used informally by many western mappers.--Ruadh (talk) 21:57, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
  • I also support the Cordilleras. I am not sure whether it should be "The Cordilleras" or something like the "Archantan Cordilleras." I am one of the mappers who informally uses the Cordilleras when referring to the mountain range in eastern Clamash. Glauber (talk) 19:09, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
  • I also support the name of the Cordilleras. Like Glauber, I also refer to this range as the Cordilleras. Geoc3ladus (talk) 03:53, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
  • +1 Cordilleras /wangi (talk) 11:37, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
  • +1 Cordilleras. Also endorse prefixing "The..." (or maybe something fun like have the Castellanese "Las" fossilized into the Ingerish name, so the mountains are called "Las Cordilleras" but colloquially you'll then hear "The Las Cordilleras Mountains" - very common phenomenon in US names of Spanish origin).--Luciano (talk) 14:32, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
  • +1 Cordilleras. I'd additionally support specifying it as the "Archantan Cordilleras" if there is to be a mountain-range in the Castellanese/Uletha region that would have been first named, before settlers provided the Archantan Cordilleras with it's name. -- Aces California (talk) 17:05, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

As a result of the unanimous vote on the February 2024 omnibus ballot, the western mountain range is now officially known as the Cordilleras. --TheMayor (talk) 17:32, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
