BG16 - Vrašija (Врашија)

The geography of Vrašija is quite diverse, with a warm and coastal climate in the south, and a cold mountainous climate up in the north. The country is flat, allowing for easy development of infrastructure. The warm climate also is a main key in the agriculture.

Vrašija is a Parliamentary Republic, based in the capital of Breznik (Брезник).

The main ethnic group are Vrašani (Врашани), which are orthodox-christian faith, and a small minority of Merdžani (Мерџани), which they are Sunni Muslims.

The economy is rising, in part due to the rich mining industry and manufacturing of mechanical goods. Vrašija also has a important sector in tourism and hospitality, due to the unique geography the country possesses. The country uses the Vrašijan Dinar (Vrašijski dinar/Врашијски динар).

Vrašija is divided into regional municipalities (opštine/општине) in which the capital city of each municipality is the biggest city, and that city will have control over smaller towns and villages around it. Road infrastructure is poorly developed, so there are no major highways (autoputevi/аутопутеви), but instead primary roads (magistrale/магистрале). There are also regional roads that connect towns and villages. Rail transport is not present due to the economic hardships, but there are works on development of rails. Air transport is a important sector of Vrašija, with major airports near Breznik, and minor seasonal airports like Žuta Varoš. Vrašija also has a long warm coastline allowing for development of harbors and ports in the south.

Since the dawn of humanity, these lands have been settled by people, who later were replaced by the Vrašani and Merdžani. Vrašija was first a duchy under the Draganović dynasty, which they've ruled the lands for centuries. The dynasty enjoyed its hegemony until the socialist revolution of 1947, led by the Communist Party of Vrašija (Komunistička partija Vrašije/Комунистичка партија Врашије), which turned the country into a socialist state under the rule of the party and Ivan Stojković, a beloved ruler by all, by imrpoving the infrastructure and economy. After the death of Ivan Stojković in 1985, the party continued to rule until 1992, when it peacefully transitoned into a parlamentary republic.

Vrašija has a extensive culture of Vrašani and Merdžani people. Veligrad is the cultural centre of Vrašija, boasting the Church of st. Vasilije the Savior (Crkva Svetog Vasilija Žaštitnika/Црква Светог Василија Заштитника), and Mehmed-beg`s Mosque (Mehmed Begova Džamija/Мехмед Бегова Џамија). Veligrad also has the Veligrad History museum (Muzej Veligradske rošlosti/Музеј Велиградске Прошлости) and the Gallery of Miloš Kralj (Galerija Miloša Kraljeva/Галерија Милоша Краљева).

The country's main language is Vrašani (Vrašanski jezik/Врашански језик), and Merdžani (Merdžanski/Мерџански), both written in Cyrillic and Latin script
