Furgenia is a small island state located in Mesembric Sea near Plevian coast and a home to the Ortholic Papacy. While officially still a theocracy ruled by the Pope, the most responsibilities regarding secular matters are delegated to small unicameral parliament and the provincial and city councils. The country, although small is known for its beautiful nature, especially in the mountains spreading over entire east side of the main island, and many historic sites related to the Church, such as monasteries and churches.

Historically Papacy owned large swaths of land in Plevia and was one of key political players in Mesembric Sea during medieval and reneissance eras. During that time the Papacy took many efforts to purge the world from heretics and Imani believers. These efforts included creation of several knight orders and attempts of crusades, especially targeting Demirhan Empire and Mazan. The crusades achieved limited and temporary success and ultimately drained the Papacy's treasury. This, along with social attitude changes in entire christindom, caused decrease of the state political power during Enlightment. Finally due to ongoing unification movements in Plevia during 19th century Papal lands were reduced only to the terrritory of Furgenia and neighboring islands.
