Saiol (/sə'iɔl/, pronounced: sa-YUL), officially the Kingdom of Saiol, is a country in southwestern Uletha∈⊾. Mainland Saiol is bordered to the north by Larcetany; to the east by UL04e; and to the west by Valony, through its southern exclave of Castelnau-la-Vèle. Along with its many islands, the largest one being Veran∈⊾, Saiol covers an area of 86,277 km² (33,312 sq mi) and has a population of more than 17.3 million. Its largest metropolitan area is Arlhac; other major cities include Tesseis, Aigmaurèl, Mantola (the capital), Vaucarga, Pantariol and Saguès.
Saiol has two main linguistic communities: The Ocetanic-speaking community, constituting the southern half of the country and about 40% of its speakers, and the Larcetan-speaking community, constituting the northern half and about 60% of its speakers. The Larcetan half speaks with a distinct dialect that differentiates it with Larcetany proper and closely resembles the Ocetanic pronunciation; however, the written language is virtually the same. Both languages are official.
