This wiki server is in the process of being upgraded. Both the operating system and the MediaWiki software are being updated to the latest "LTS" (long-term support) releases. This is an essential task, which helps with on-going maintenance, performance and system security.

The upgraded is being phased:

1. Utility pages will stop being updated (territory map, new users, etc), as they are moved across to the new versions and tested
   • This means that the content of OpenGeofiction:Territories, Help:New user patrol, Index:Time zones, Index:Driving side, Index:Intergovernmental organizations, Index:Mains electricity, Index:Rail transport, Index:World economics, Index:International business listing, and various Admin: pages will not update
   • However, the wiki server can otherwise be used as normal
   • Also, the coastline maintenance page will update as normal
2. Server will go into read-only mode, as a final pre-update backup is made
3. The wiki server will be unavailable, as it is being updated, configured and restored
4. The new wiki server will be online

Current progress: Phase 1 complete, expected to begin Phase 2 at, or around, 19:00 UTC Mon 15 Apr 2024.
