Marize is a tropical/subtropical country. The interior would comprise of forested hills/rainforest. The west coast would be home to many beaches, while the east coast would be more rocky and have cliffs. Given the Marize is not a wealthy country, the majority of the interior is still covered in forest. Map: https://imgur.com/a/RpiyHLw

Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Marize is a relatively poor country. The majority of the interior of the country is underdeveloped due to being heavily forested and hilly. The economy is primarily based on tourism, agriculture, fishing, and forestry. Either Marize Town or Dabago would be the tourism center.

The largest city is Marize Town, and the capital is St. Niles . Total population of the country would be around 350,000 with approximately 70,000 living in St. Niles and 85,000 in Marize Town.

Infrastructure is limited. There are no railways or motorways in the country. A trunk route would connect St. Niles to Marize Town. Other major roads would be primary and secondary. A ferry operates between Marize Town and Dabago. The international airport is located in St. Niles. The seaport would be located in Marize Town.

The southern border is militarized due to perceived instability in AN104.

The country is split into four districts (three on the mainland and one on the island).

A brief description of the intended culture and language

Marize was initially a Castelanese colony as can be seen in some of the larger town names. However, in the early 1800s the Ingerish defeated the Castelanese in a TBD battle, which led to Marize becoming an Ingerish colony. Marize was granted independence in the mid 1970s. The language of Marize is primarily Ingerish and Creole. As mentioned above, Marize is inspired by Central America and the Caribbean.

Discussion for clarification & decision

For clarification, this is a second territory request. Glauber (talk) 20:10, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi Glauber,

Thank you for your application. Your project seems clear and appropriate for the region. I would just point out the following:

  • AN102 is located 27°S, Corpus Christi or Tampa/Saint Peterburg are 27°N. Not sure it will affect your mapping that much and could be considered for future Wiki articles.
  • I haven't noticed the Spanish names on your draft map. -ze endings are pretty rare in Spanish. If Marize is an anglicised version of either Spanish or native name, I suppose this is fine. Otherwise Spanish would have a -iz or a -ce instead: Mariz/Marice.
  • For the militarised border, I would keep it rather "light" as it's motive isn't AN102 but currently-unoccupied AN104. If a future owner doesn't want it to be unstable, it would be their rightful decision.
  • Here's the land_area relation: 4,871.23 km2/1,880.79 sq mi

Otherwise, AN102 is yours. Welcome back to Antarephia.

Happy mapping, --Aiki (talk) 21:11, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
