AR909 will be a revival of the former Bai project, which was previously terminated due to a lack of interest. However, I decided to revive it and will be willing to swap AR903 (Kuehong) for AR909. However, I won't immediately revive the project, and would need some time to workshop a few things before reopening it for collaboration.
This is an application for a swap of personal territories, repurposing the former Bai project of AR909 into the new personal territory of Peichew (百州).

The physical geography will be largely unchanged from what already exists on the map, with a central range running through the territory and a large lake.
The climate of Peichew will be similar to southern China as it is located significantly south, with the north coast of the Empire barely crossing the subtropical latitude (around Taiwan). As such, Peichew generally experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa inland, Cwa along the coast) like Guangdong Province.
Although the central valley experiences relatively dry precipitation, it is traversed by several major rivers that flow into Dahu Lake, making it the country's agricultural heartland. The high-elevation region around the capital is Cwb subtropical highland climate. Present at high elevations and on plateaus.

Peichew boasts a rapidly growing economy, though significant economic disparities persist, particularly between urban and rural areas. The eastern coastal regions and the area surrounding Dahu, including the capital of Hionggian, experienced substantial growth during the country's industrialization and modernization in the 19th century. In contrast, the southwestern interior and western regions remain less developed, relying primarily on agriculture and heavy industry.
During its industrialization, Peichew adopted a protectionist approach with a focus on modernising its own industries. However, in the 1960s, under I Cek-ming's Juisin program, the Empire began reopening to international trade. Today, some of its key economic partners include: Izaland, Huaxia and Kanglapo.
It is likely, however, that as I declutter the territory, that the territory won't be that urbanised with too many towns and cities, and ensure a more realistic distribution.

| A brief description of the intended culture and language |
Unlike the previous iteration of the Bai Project, Peichew it does not speak Mandarin but the national language is Teochew (or Peigu in OGF). Also, the country is a semi-constitutional monarchy which has also seen Ulethan influences in its culture and society. Major place names, provinces etc would require the Peichew romanisation (for example: 雄京 Hionggian).
The history framework is largely unchanged, though still undergoing restructuring and coordination with the Huaxia project.

Other notes: Much mapping in AR903 will be repurposed for mapping in Peichew and Kanglapo. For example, Vang Ngat will be moved to Kanglapo, and Phong Thinh would be repurposed for Riqing. I'm in discussions with Izaland on moving Bakdep to be Kyowa's administrative capital, though it's likely it will be "stored" in AR909 for the time being. --Zhenkang (talk) 01:20, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Every time you bring up this idea, I'm always completely confused by the desire to map in Teochew. I'm no expert, but based on reading wikipedia:Teochew Min#Writing system and other sources, I really struggle to see how it could work? All other things aside, wouldn't this be setting it up for failure? /wangi (talk) 14:00, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the reply.
- First, to address the issue of Teochew transcription, it's more likely that I will use the Peng'im, which seems to be the more preferred Teochew romanisation among Teochew speakers I've talked with, compared to the older Pe̍h-ūe-jī system. Here's an example of how it would show on the map (232261072). Currently, I'm using the Mogher Teochew dictionary which transcribes hanzi into this system (and other resources exist). That said, at least we aren't dealing with the debates of how Korean should be romanised.
- Also, here's a more detailed map of the main settlements and geography.
- Actually, and I'm unsure if you would be open to this, but I'm considering instead to claim AR909 (Peichew) as a personal territory than reopening it as a collab. I realised that trying to run a collab was very stressful, and when I had Bai, I felt the constant pressure of assert it as the "true Chinese homeland". And I admit this application is more out of a reaction to Huaxians discussing among themselves to expand further, and decided to revisit Peichew to reclaim what's left of Bai's legacy.
- I'm still attached to Bai, and decided to go with a more original approach than trying to make it like Huaxia or insisting for it to be OGF's China. The other trivial thing to address is that there are still a couple of references in OGF to Bai lore, and others I spoke to do want it back too. Even Kanglapo's history have a couple of references to it. The main changes only are just converting the Mandarin names to Teochew, which isn't really a difficult endeavour since the characters are still the same, and much of the lore is still off-wiki.
- A Teochew-speaking country still appeals to me more greatly, and there are plenty of resources on the Teochew language. It's similar to Kuehong, when I did not even speak Vietnamese and more reliant on a dictionary and a Chu Nom dictionary.
- Nevertheless, with all that said, I understand if you wish to close this application and ask me to retain AR903, assuming you have other plans for this territory. Kanglapo is still my main focus, where I can do whatever I want and make something interesting out of it.--Zhenkang (talk) 10:12, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- "but I'm considering instead to claim AR909 (Peichew) as a personal territory" - this application has been left in limbo, based on that. Can you either reword the application, if that is what you want to progress, or let me know otherwise. A collab application isn't going to be approved due to the niche language selection. Thanks/wangi (talk) 12:31, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- I desire to swap AR903 and have AR909 as a personal territory. I think trying to run a collab has given me more headaches than it should, no matter what iteration it is, and also led to the closure of the former Bai project. And as you note, Teochew is a more niche language which would make it unsuitable for a collab.
- However, I understand if you wish to keep AR909 as a potential future collab instead of turning it into a personal territory. But personally, I don't really have any interest in keeping Kuehong any longer, nor do I wish to repurpose AR903 for that, since my proposal for a Teochew-speaking country is more based on the former iteration of the Bai project. I also have more knowledge of Teochew given my mother and grandmother speaks it, and I felt a future Vietnamese-speaking country would be best run by someone who do speak the language.--Zhenkang (talk) 01:19, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, update the application so it is for a swap of owned territory, rather than collaborative, and it can be processed. Thanks/wangi (talk) 09:15, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
