TA161 - Saint Helier and Valdes Islands
| Physical geography | |

| An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. With the exception of Beginner territories, you should always create a sketch map to illustrate & explain your plans. You can add a link to this (hosted on imgBB, Postimages or similar, but not imgur.com) |
The Nation consists of two main Islands, Saint Helier to the South, and Valdes to the North. Valdes Island is extremely forested to the north and surrounding its volcano, while on the south and southeastern coasts forests give way for brush and plantations. Saint Helier to the south is home to less forest coverage than Valdes due to more prevalent agriculture on the island. Saint Helier's volcano is heavily forested like its counterpart on Valdes, though less steep it allows for more human development. Separating the Islands is the Sevier Narrows.
The many southern islands below Saint Helier will be sparsely populated and treated as nature reserves, preserving their ecology and distinct identities (Comparable to the distinct Seychellois Islands like Aldabra). To the north of Valdes is a large coral reef system, called the Récifal.

I was also considering TA111 as a 'mainland' part of the territory similar to Equitorial Guinea but I am uncertain as to if I should request both or not.

| A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Combined, the islands will be home to around 160,000 people, comparable to Curaçao or St. Lucia. A majority of the population will live in the three largest towns of Seviertowne, Noblestowne, and Barmouth. On Saint Helier and southern Valdes, much of the land is devoted to agriculture. The islands were never exploited for cash-crops during Ingrean colonialism, so the economy had to diversify early on. This lead to Saint Helier being home to one of Tarephia's best hospitals, with the nations medical sector being renown globally. Both islands are home to some agriculture though, mainly in the form of vineyards, okra, maize, and some smaller cacao fields.
Ethnically Saint Helier and Valdes will be around, 50% Ingrean, 20% immigrant population, and 30% native Sowali peoples.
The mapping style will be a mix of Caribbean and many tropical African islands, most notably Saint Kitts and Nevis, Mauritius/Reunion, and the Seychelles.

| A brief description of the intended culture and language |
I intend the culture of the Islands to be that of an English colony with a strong native/English mix, comparable to that of New Zealand. Because agriculture was not the priority for the island, imported or native slavery was either very limited or never required. This gives the island's natives a better standing than that of its equivalent native Caribbean islanders.
The natives of the islands, the Sowali, would be a Malagasy group that would have arrived on the islands 300-400 years prior to the Valonnians and Ingreans.
The mapping language is predominantly Ingerish with some historic sites having maintained their Valonnian names.

| To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful. | |
| The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL. |
I had also prior owned AR019, though it seems my mapping has sense been cleared.
