Discussion for clarification & decision |
- Hello Alomico, thank you for your application. Your mapping history is a good start. Before granting a private territory, there are some major points I'd like to raise:
- Your territory application is not very detailed and does not relate to all aspects mentioned in the respective headers.
- Especially when applying for a very rural territory, please also practice mapping some rural/natural features and landcovers in your BG territory. So far you have mostly focussed on cities.
- If you refer to OpenGeofiction:East_Uletha, you will notice that you correctly identified the country as rather cold, with the south being on the milder side. Also note that the country will be relatively dry, with parts of if (as a rough guidance) being cold steppe. You have considerable freedom in determining the detailed climate of your territory, but a cold rainforest like you mention would be difficult to justify in this location.
- Also in the East Uletha Concept, you'll see that there is currently no cultural or linguistic theme set for the area. Swedish would be good fit, with other North European languages close by to the east. There is however no English presence in the region at this point in time. Please expand a little on what you mean by a language that is "a mix of Swedish and English", and if you yourself speak Swedish.
- Based on your response, we can have another look at whether this territory suits your plans the best or if other locations might be better alternatives. Then we can together come up with a plan for how to proceed with the application process.

- Hello! While I echo the sentiment of Leowezy regarding the need for a more detailed outline of what you intend to map as well as providing a good base of examples of your mapping, I'd also like to add a few comments. I presume with 'cold rainforest' you mean 'temperate rainforest' as found in western Norway. Which could be reasonable, even if I'm not sure where that moisture would realistically come from but that's less important. I have to comment on the name though, Härnösand. Naming your country after a significant swedish city is perhaps not the best idea and I would recommend coming up with a new name.

- I have changed the name of my country to Urksivo. I dont know what other langauge to pick. i will expand my map with an rural area, and i have also expanded my application.

- Let me know when you added some rural mapping to include in your application. In the meantime, please also provide some background info relating to the questions in my 4th bulletpoint: do you speak (some) Swedish? And when you say "a mix of Swedish and English", do you mean some parts of country will be speaking English and some Swedish? Or that placenames will be Swedish but everyday language is English? Or that you intend to use a conlang, ie a language that doesnt exist in the real world and that blends elements from Swedish and English? Or something different altogether? This will help us to figure out if this spot or a different spot is suitable for your mapping plans. Leowezy (talk) 08:18, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- im thinking something like ireland, where most of the place names are swedish, but the most common language is english. There will still be quite a few swedish speakers, but the last part of the street names will be in english. I dont speak swedish, but i am trying to learn it.Alomico (talk) 09:19, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- hello, i have added more mapping to my area. please look at it. thank you. Alomico (talk) 05:39, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
