An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

New Abereth is a mostly mountainous country with one small river valley in the north of the country.

There are two main rivers in this country. The first one is a short river ending in the Southern Mountains. This one exits out into the bay, the main body of water of New Abereth. Although the river holds little importance, the bay is very important, as it hosts the biggest harbour in the country, and the Capitol City. Where the river meets the bay will be a very marshy swamp land.

The second river is in the north. This river will create a fertile valley, mostly covered in farms with few small towns.

Most of the mountains are covered in a dense boreal forest. There will be two distinct mountain types.

The first one, in the center and eastern parts of the nation, highlighted in green, will be primarily inspired by the Coast Mountains in British Colombia. These mountains will have dense boreal forest at the base and snowy ice caps at the peak.

The second type of mountains will be inspired by the Southern Cascadian Mountains in Northern California. These too will have dense forest but be much shorter in height. They are located in the southern and northern portion of the country. These mountains are highlighted in blue.

The coastline will be mostly rocky in the Southern Coast, and Northern Coast of the bay.

Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

The captiol city will be on a peninsula on the bay. It is marked as the large yellow dot. It will host the main port for the country and be the largest city in the country, with around 600k people in the city and surrounding areas.

There will be four other major cities, each with a population around 50k. These cities are marked as the smaller yellow dot. Other then these 5 main cities, most other population centers will be small villages and towns doted around the country, with at most 3k population. In total, New Abereth will have a total population around the 1 million mark.

Regarding infrastructure, there will be 3 main motorways connecting the various cities. This will be the core of the road network in New Abereth, and they will be known as "Interstates". These highways are the red lines in the image. There will be smaller, "State Highways" connecting the smaller towns. These highways are the orange lines in the image.

The rail network will also be an important part of the infrastructure. The rail lines will all meet up at the captiol city. The two main rail lines are the black lines on the image and connect the major cities. There will be a few other smaller rail lines, but will be less frequently used.

A brief description of the intended culture and language

New Abereth original was a sparsely populated coastal region. The natives of the area, the Okomosh People were mainly hunter gatherers and set up little to no settlements. In the 1500s, a English speaking nation came along the bay, and found it to be a good harbor for ships. From then, it became a colony centering around the bay.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Edit 5/9/23 - Just realized the territory is not that big so the opulation of the captial will be 100k witht the other cites around 10k. Also there wont be any large ice peaks, just small mountains

++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi anjn,

Thank you for application.

  • Physical geography

If AN136d were located IRL north hemisphere, it would be at the same latitude as roughly Napa Valley, California, some thousands of miles too south for boreal forests.

  • Human geography

I'm unsure of how to read your sketch with mountains, roads and railways. Given the size of the territory, it may be unlikely that US federal terminology applies to those roads.

  • History & culture

As you may have read on the Antarephia page, colonial influence is limited in Antarephia.

  • Past mapping

Since you came back to mapping a week ago, after a year-long hiatus, I don't feel your 20 changesets could secure a permanent territory. You may continue to edit in a blue territory, join a collaboration or request a BG (beginner) territory to exercise your skills. Thank you for your understanding and happy mapping. --Aiki (talk) 02:17, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
