The south will have forest areas with a rainforest on the southeast. The more north, the drier the climate. There's a desert on the northern part of the country, seperated from arable areas by a big savannah region with a city located where a river estuary meets the Rigioso river, which will become the country's main river, making some of the land on the northern desert arable. The river would go across the whole coutry with its source being located in the Commonwealth of Central Archanta. The red lines on the map are highways, three freeways and four expressways in total. The country's longest and busiest freeway marked F1 will connect the border with Mecyna with 3 major cities in the country, one of which would be the country's capital. The one leading northeast from the capital will be F2 and the one to the border with the Commonwealth of Central Archanta will be F3. The country will also have a colonial-era railway network, connecting major cities and industry hubs.

Amilpania is a developing republic with a lower-middle-income economy with a growing population of about 18 million. The population is heavily concentrated along the basin of the Rigioso River and the southern coastal regions, with the rugged mountains and northern desert sparsely populated. Around 62% of the population will live in rural areas, 21% in major cities other than the capital and 17% of the population (~2 million people) will live in the capital of Tlalocanpan.

Urban centers have high-density, tightly clustered multi-family housing blocks (built during modern economic expansion booms), while the suburbs feature expansive single-family areas. The country relies heavily on its colonial-era rail network to transport raw materials and agricultural goods from inland farming valleys to major industrial hubs and coastal ports. One of the country's main sources of income is farming through large-scale fields and river-fed savannah farming networks.

The forest regions feature historic Aztec-style pyramids (though on a smaller scale than the Aztecs), while the savannahs are home to native communities with social structures inspired by African savannah tribes. During the colonial era, Ingerish settlers established governance but the indigenous population proved resilient; only about 25% was wiped out by conflict and disease, leaving a large native majority today of about 70% of the population. The colonial period established Catholicism as the dominant religion and introduced Ingerish as the nationwide administrative language, but some elements of previous traditions were blended in with the faith.

City centers feature highly organized, planned grid layouts from the 1800s with formal colonial architecture. In contrast, the modern suburbs are largely unplanned or semi-planned informal settlements like the ones in real-life Ghana, while rural areas consist of traditional agrarian homesteads. Politically, the republic is dominated by a two-party rivalry between a center-left social democratic party and a center-right conservative party, with smaller third parties representing ideologies like the third way, liberalism and libertarianism.

Discussion for clarification & decision


  • What will the primary language used for mapping? English "whitewash" isn't going to work, this territory requires an African-based theme. Look north to the CCA for inspiration, not the Blue chaos of Mecyna. If that isn't going to work for you, then you will need to consider a different territory.
  • Do you have any rural mapping similar to "forest areas with a rainforest on the southeast. The more north... a desert ...a big savannah region"? The two rural links supplied are either somebody else's mapping, or just a small town. /wangi (talk) 21:00, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the feedback and for your hard work keeping Archanta's regional themes consistent!
  • To explain my choice, I initially went with Ingerish because AR019 is sandwiched right between the CCA and Mecyna, both of which being Ingerish-speaking countries. However, I completely understand the desire to avoid English "whitewashing" here and I will definitely avoid making European-style cities and rural areas. But, creating a brand-new conlang from scratch would take me months to do properly, unless it closely borrows from an existing family like Polish does to Czech, which could still take weeks. Because of that I am very open to using a real-world language instead. For example, I could pivot the mapping to Akan or Nahuatl to fully lean into my intended vision of a unique Aztec and West African cultural fusion. (since AR019 is in both African and Latin cultural zones)
  • Regarding my past mapping, all the examples listed were fully mapped by me; for the "Hotakope Valley" link, I was specifically referring to the rural fields and agricultural buildings I drew near Amperton rather than the villages themselves (though I did make the road network for the village of Fercansil). Here's a better view of my detailed farm mapping 22.6254°S, 143.5474°E. Other than that, all my links seem to go to places I've mapped.
  • As requested, I've mapped an African-style village in a Rhododactylian desert at 5.14429°S, 169.32026°E called Temorasseya.
  • If based on this direction, you still feel I might struggle with mapping AR019 on theme, I am completely open to your suggestions for a different territory. I am fluent in English and Polish (+learning German and Spanish), and would happily take on an open sector better suited to a mixed-European or temperate/colder theme.   • Szarmin - rural mapping: the rural mapping here is by Olejowy and waa, you have mapped a small village amongst it. I'm looking to see what you can map in natural features.
  • I think you've misunderstood "Latin" - it's really implying Spanish, French etc colonial type territories, rather than native South American that you've taken it as. See also OpenGeofiction:Tarephia#East Tarephia and OpenGeofiction:West Uletha.
  • Past experience is that mappers can really struggle when mapping in an unfamiliar language, so I certainly do not want to be pushing that. Thanks/wangi (talk) 11:43, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
  • I see, I also have the idea of making some names Spanish-influenced while keeping English as the main language which I think I can definitely do, though if that won't work, I agree I might not be able to map my first territory in Spanish and I will definitely look for a different territory to work on. I know I have mapped for 2 years already, but do you think a beginner territory would work for me to practice large-scale mapping (and possibly mapping in foreign languages) first?
  • I think I might apply for a different territory, like AN127∈⊾ƨ, TA106∈⊾ƨ, TA232∈⊾ƨ or UL27g∈⊾ƨ, since they seem to be perfect for countries affected by Ingerish colonialism, UL10-02∈⊾ƨ as a territory in Ingrea itself, UL13e∈⊾ƨ as a Lechian-, Sorbian- or Silesian-speaking territory, or AN147b∈⊾ƨ, which might fit Ingerish, Kashubian or Lechian.
