AR033 - Dosania

Noun Project Map icon 1463108.svgPhysical geography
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

Dosania is country with terrain similar to southern Ontario, featuring many plains and countryside areas in it’s outskirts of populated cities, mild forestry in the south eastern portion of the land, and its famous Solton Bay in the southern part of the land, neighboured by major cities and mainly used for fishing and recreational purposes. The waterfronts of the land usually have smooth, sandy beaches. There are many rivers across the landscape in all corners and sides of the country, making it known as the “River Country.” Many of the islands in the southern district of the country are mainly forestry and sites for fishing and have the perfect climate for vacation spots in the summertime. The “South Dip” is located on the bottom stretch, shaped like a high heel and has a planned major city coming to its area.

Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Dosania is split into two undisputed regions, both North Dosania and South Dosania, respectively named for their locations. There are no tolls dividing the two, meaning anyone may cross to either side via normal vehicular traffic or simply walking across.

North Dosania is the lesser populated district, but contains a greater amount of agriculture and forestry. Many key landmarks are in the northern district, such as the 2nd largest city in the country, San Dunford, holding a grand population of 4.9 million (subject to change.)

South Dosania is the more populated district and has many major cities and key suburban areas across most of its area, due to its much more tolerable weather near the ocean. It holds the capital city of the country, Jarvon, which has a population of 6 million (subject to change) and is the biggest neighbouring city to the Solton Bay.

Many of the newer infrastructure found across the country are contemporary themed, keeping the country in a modern and cozy theme from housing to bigger public indoor areas, such as malls. The economic status of the country is mainly stable, with the government being able to install new highways and expressways regularly.

The mapping style is very similar to those of Canadian provinces, containing many scenic highways that both lead from beautiful forest areas, to lakefronts, to big cities. There will be 30 (subject to change) major highways, with the Dosania Valley Expressway/Highway 7 being the longest route in the country, spanning from north to the South Dip. The second longest highway, Highway 6, spans from the west end to the east coast in San Dunford. Highway 3, being the 3rd longest, follows the same concept as Highway 6.

Other than the 30 major highways, there will be 400 minor highways spanning across the country. These minor highways will be alternative secondary routes to the major 30 highways, and 400 being the highest secondary number (subject to change… again.)

Noun Project languages icon 105908 cc.svgHistory & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

Inhabited mainly by Indigenous tribes in the forest areas, no contact with any outsiders. The land was mainly seen as a hunting area for minor local villages that inhabited the area. Country remained untouched and was not founded until 1808, when Sir Malcom Dunford and his people had explored the land to scavenge for more lands of agriculture to increase his profits. With minor revolution and protest from the inhabitants, Dunford had settled an agreement to share the land with the condition that the forests would remain untouched and the rivers still flowed.

The official spoken languages here are mainly English, but some official excerpts of Spanish and French are briefly spoken in small communities, with the latter being the more commonly used. French and Spanish communities mainly thrive in San Dunford, with the city being known as the highest percentage diverse city in the country.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to complete this application. I wanted to make sure you realize that AR033 is in the Southern Hemisphere, so northern parts of the country will likely be warmer than the southern parts; additionally, at about 34°S, the comparable North American territories would be Arizona, New Mexico, Arkansas, etc., and as such would be much warmer than something like southern Ontario. As an alternative, you may be interested in the Collab:Deodeca project, which is much better suited for what you have in mind. There are several Deodeca provinces that are currently vacant that could be a good fit. You may also be interested in the Collab:Federal States project, which also has plenty of vacant states but is more U.S.-inspired. --TheMayor (talk) 00:00, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Okay that’s fine, Dosania/AR033 is now of the same climate as Arizona. I’m more for the terrain/human geography than the weather anyways Unsigned comment by Dose (talk).
The past mapping section is important - it's what you should use to demonstrate you can map sufficiently well to be granted the territory you are requesting. So, it's pretty impossible for us to look at it, when you're saying it should be all wiped. I think the best course of action is if you use BG07 to map as-if it is your desired territory, use it as a showcase to support an application. I'd also suggest a bit more originality on names then using your username. Thanks/wangi (talk) 22:50, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
