As I stated before, much of the state's physical geography will be based around that of the two model states (Missouri and Kentucky). I have a map of the state subdivided into 6 roughly equal regions, going from east to west, with "Section 6" being in the far east, a very mountainous region that gradually flattens as you get closer to what is currently marked as "Madawan" (can that name be changed if i'm granted this territory to something else?) Section 6 is very rural with no major population centers or medium-sized cities, mainly small towns and villages. "Section 5" goes from roughly "Brimsville" to roughly where the east-west motorway enters the state and is one of the 2 primary urban areas within the state. The region becomes progressively hillier and more rural the more south and east you go toward "Section 6." The two sections west of Brimsville, Sections 3 and 4, are both very rural and PLSS grid based regions with Section 3 being slightly more populated than Section 4 as it contains suburban areas for the city of "Austinburg". "Austinburg" is within Section 2 and is very urban, but does contain some hillier areas to the south and central part of the region. Section 1 is flat and urbanized and has a lot of suburban development within it along the river. (Atkinsville is akin to KC, Austinburg to like Jefferson City or Columbia, and Madawan to Louisville) https://imgur.com/a/GnscXux

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

As mentioned above, much of the central part of the state is very flat and rural, most of the largest population centers are in Sections 1, 2, and 5 (roughly what would be considered the Atkinsville, Austinburg, and Madawan metropolitan areas) and the state's population in total comes out to around 2 million (400k in Madawan, 600k in Atkinsville, 100k roughly in Austinburg area, and the other million are rural residents.) The capital will be in a smaller town in Section 3 (east of Austinburg) in order to be closer to the people in both the Madawan and Atkinsville metros.

A brief description of the intended culture and language

The primary language in this area as with most of the FSA will be Ingerish with some Franquese minority speakers primarily in Section 3 and Austinburg. The culture in most of the state is distinctly Archantan, but the areas with more Franquese population have a blended culture (similar to what is seen in real-world Louisiana)

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Most of my mapping has been concentrated the past week on Yew County, Michisaukee where I constructed 2 small towns and a state park centered around the Yew Creek Bluffs and Great yew Falls. Not much natural mapping necessarily besides just creating the creek, probably my next step here would be marking elevation markers within the state park https://opengeofiction.net/changeset/1253006#map=10/-36.5367/155.1311&layers=B

I also constructed this small sort of micropolitan area in the beginner demo zone https://opengeofiction.net/changeset/1252038#map=13/11.5095/-111.6890&layers=B

And this small mountain village on the way up to Mammoth Mountain Observatory that I opted to just leave alone and not develop further in order to focus on the Basanez area https://opengeofiction.net/changeset/1252122

Probably my biggest weakness in terms of mapping wise besides the relative inexperience that I have only having mapped for a week is that I haven't really done truly "urban" mapping. I guess you could maybe call the eastern side of Basanez "suburban" type mapping but it's not really that urbanized and I haven't finished the building layout yet https://opengeofiction.net/changeset/1253584

Since I made this application I was extended the opportunity to work in West Massodeya on creating the town of Morrison (which I am still working on right now with getting the town amenities laid out on the grid) and developing the area, suburbs, etc. The city is supposed to be around 20k-30k residents https://opengeofiction.net/#map=13/-35.0459/151.1686&layers=B

  • Hello, FB. As a potential neighbor, I like the over-all layout for the state but do have some thoughts. However, you may want some time to brush up on urban mapping. Might you be interested in doing some work in West Massodeya to help practice and also use for this application? If so, I have a few options in mind for you to experiment with. You could also contact Lithium about mapping in Massodeya City itself a bit. If you'd like, feel free to contact me on OGF, and I'll get you set up in WM. Cheers. — Alessa (talk) 21:14, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Sure Alessa I'll take on some WM tasks FB (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Having reviewed your application and what you've done so far in West Massodeya, I'd say you're off to a good start, but I don't think you've demonstrated enough experience yet to warrant granting a large state like AR120-35. As such, I'd like you to consider one of the following two options:

  • Continue working in West Massodeya to demonstrate more of your mapping skills, especially rural and natural mapping. If, after two months, you've demonstrated enough growth to warrant reconsideration of this application, I'll take another look.
  • Alternatively, you can request a Beginner territory instead to get your mapping started. Keep in mind that BG territories are "non-canon", but once you've "graduated" to a full territory request you can move all your mapping to your new territory, wherever that may be.

In the meantime I'm closing this application, but you're welcome to reopen it some time in March. --TheMayor (talk) 17:35, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
