This state is primarily based on the Great Basin and Red-Rock country. It borders mountains on the eastern and southwest sides, and has many smaller ranges scattered throughout it. It's primarily a cold desert, and the landscape is going to stay much the same, but with a few changes depending on what I feel like.

| A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Demographically, Desiray is primarily a combination of Germanic-based groups, with other Ulanthan groups in small enclaves around mining towns, and Castellan along the north coast. Small sections of American Indian-equivalent majority exist on reservations. Economically, its most prominent industries are agriculture, mining, and tourism, but the northern coastal area is currently gaining a reputation as a headquarters for large companies. Towns in the state are primarily positioned along the north-south interstate corridor. I'm going to completely overhaul the local infrastructure and administrative design, with the exception of the Freeways and select other highways, because the current design doesn't fit the theme I'm going for. (By that I mean my predecessor left a huge mess and I need to clean it up now.)

| A brief description of the intended culture and language |
The primary culture and language is Ingrean, with several small native enclaves, as well as some larger ones.
The first major settlement was by the Castellan crown along the north coast, building a trade town and mission. They mostly ignored the inland areas, however, due to it being too arid for most people to want it.
Its first Ingrean settlements happened long before the FSA took control of the land, in the early 1800's, as part of an attempt by groups of southerners who were disgruntled with the way the country was being run to establish their own country. The southerners mostly settled in the southern region of the country, in the places the Castellans ignored. Due to political trouble, the country in question was annexed by the FSA, however, about 50 years after the first settlement.
During the late 1800's, numerous mining towns popped up, which led to the migration of numerous Ulanthans groups to the area.

| To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful. | |
| The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL. |
I created the town of Crimson Cliffs, which is at the coordinates 12.82263, -114.10452. That's the sort of design the towns in my state will have. I also created Sianai Peak National Forest, at 12.82793, -114.22473.

- Are there any quick ways to wipe most of the region while not wiping the forests or motorways, or other things I don't want to wipe? It would be a pain to wipe each thing manually. And what about the big city to the north, Playa Gomez. I think it would need a ton of reworking and it would be easier to restart, but some person obviously put a lot of hard work into it. Are there any good ways to archive it somewhere else?
- Hi, check out our scale helper. You will also need to add a sketch map of your plans. Please also review the FSA project documentation and tie in your application to items discussed there. Your mapping isn't a bad start, but you are going to need to show more than the centre of a small town. Can you start with some rural mapping, consistent with what you are planning? Thanks/wangi (talk) 21:09, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'm unsure what "tying my application to items discussed there" means. Does it mean applying for military bases or suggesting my history for Canon or something? TheRealStanPines (talk) 02:28, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hello there! As an FSA state-owner in a nearby region, I thought I'd put in my commentary. The FSA documentation we are referring to can be found at Collab:Federal States, which should have all of the information regarding the FSA collaborative project necessary to use as a basis for your application. As a way to summarize, the territory you're applying for is in the northwest region of the FSA, which is based off of the American southwest. This essentially means that the Castellanese (the equivalent of the Spaniards) would have been the first Ulethan settlers in this region. So I'd suggest tweaking your territory's history to better reflect this. Also, I'm not sure that your territory being an independent sovereign nation prior to annexation is realistic for the FSA. I'm assuming you're looking to the Republic of Texas for inspiration, however that may be a topic for later discussion. Hope this helps! Don't be afraid to reach out with further questions or comments. Thanks! Geoc3ladus (talk) 18:41, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'm mostly basing my Idea off the Great Basin and Colorado plateau. Mexico claimed ownership over basically the entirety of it, but despite that, they controlled almost none of it. The first real settlement by Europeans came in the form of Americans who were looking for relatively isolated low demand land to settle. The land was so remote, in fact, that they basically were independent until the Mexican-American war. TheRealStanPines (talk) 20:38, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there. I'm the owner of Apawiland, your would-be neighbor to the southeast. Sure, you're not wrong about Mexico and the Colorado Plateau, but this region has already established that Castellan had a significant presence in the region. It's fair to take inspiration but not when it goes against something that has been accepted for years beforehand. I think you need to look at neighboring states (both the map and wiki articles) and rework your human geography after taking into account all the information you would find. --IiEarth (talk) 01:40, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
