An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

The climate around the north borders is typically very cold (-10F - 20F) and snowy, because of the tall mountians there. In the south it is warmer but still cold (30F - 60F), and it often has a lot of fog and rain because of the water to the south. The dessert wedged in between the mountains gets very hot (90F - 120F) and humid, the mountians block most wind from coming into the dessert, which mostly comes from the south. The grasslands of the middle of the country are decently warm (60F - 80F).

Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

The majority of the population is white (95%), with small percantages of other races being mixed in. The economic development of the region is farily advanced. In the major cities most people have access to modern-day privileges, such as running water, electricity, and technology. The country has a massive oil-industry in the most northern mountians and small outlying islands, as well as a smaller but still successful farming industry focused on mostly hooved animals. The majority of land is owned by the government, as the mountians and dessert is uninhabitable. The farther away from the coast you get the less populated it becomes, and the more farms there are. Mapping stlyie is more grid based farther out and in small suburban areas, but more unique around central industrial hubs and busy spots in cities.

Noun Project languages icon 105908 cc.svgHistory & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

Explorers discovered the mountians many years before they actually went to the actual land. The explorers didn't have any boats because of the limited trees in thier area, so they had to explore on foot. They couldn't go around the mountians because of unfriendly nations, so they had to cross the mountians, and to their dismay there was a dessert there, and many of the explorers died while trying to make it to the heart of the land. At the time, there were many trees, but because of the explorer's countrie's need for wood the land was rapidly de-forested. Trees are now illegal to cut down once they are more than 1 foot high in an effort to bring back trees. The language spoken is English, as that was the language of the explorers.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

I joined OSM in September of 2022. I mostly wanted to map out areas around my house, but now I have become bored by the dullness of the real world, and would like to be able to create my own city, where I am not restricted by satelite imagery. Here is a link to my OSM profile: https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/cuberswoop. A little bit about my history with geogrpahy: I have been interested in geography as long as I can remember. I loved to look at maps, specifically in smaller, out-there places, like the Aleutian islands, and Siberia. I couldn't have imagined that there were so many people like me, so when I first got access to the internet, and innocently searched up some interesting maps, I was flooded with geography, mostly Settera and quiz websites like Sporcle, and Jetpunk. I also discovered historic maps, which I frequently like to look at (maybe one day I'll be able to buy one). I beleive I have a creative imagination for making cities and roads and whatnot, but I don't have any relative imaginitive work surronding geography or maps, so you can take that with a grain of salt.

Hello cuberswoop, thank you for your nicely written application. A couple of comments:

  • Experience in OSM is really helpful and we are happy to welcome OSM mappers to OGF. Due to the rather low number of edits on OSM and no track record on OGF however, I cannot grant you a personal territory right from the start. Please refer to OpenGeofiction:Territory_application#Beginner to find out where you can map as a beginner to develop your skills a little more.
  • Some feedback to your application, for if you want to reapply later: there is an East Uletha Concept that defines some macro-level guidelines for the continent. UL30e is intended to have an East Asian or South Asian/Austronesian inspired culture and language, not primarily English language colonial themes (there are other regions for that). Furthermore, due to its location is has a very tropical climate. The concept you propose therefore doesn't fit in with the wider plans for the region all that well. If and when you want to apply again for a personal territory after building a track record and some experience in the practice territory, have a look at the various themes set for the continents and don't hesitate to ask the admin team for advice.
  • You can sign your comments by just typing 4 "~" symbols, they will turn into a timestamped signature after uploading.

Feel free to reach out in case of any further questions. Cheers, Leowezy (talk) 16:39, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. I was not aware that each region had partially-set climates and cultures (wow you guys put a lot of effort into this). I will definitely be practicing on the new user practice zone (and I might do some more osm to build credit too). :)
