Laubaya, officially the Republic of Laubaya (Laubayan: Republik kalaubaye) is a land-locked republic in Tarephia. Laubaya borders Apuremia to the north, TA251 to the northeast, TA213 to the east, TA212 to the south, uurö to the west, and TA216 to the northwest. Parts of the borders are formed by lakes and rivers. The country’s main river is the Auri (“Northeast Tarephian International River”), which flows from {Tarephian Lake “C”} to the north, cutting Laubaya in half, before forming the border with TA216 and ending up in {Tarephian Lake “D”}.

The west and northeastern parts of the country are covered by tropical rainforest, while agriculture is present around the inhabited areas in the centre, the northwest, and the north. Laubaya is known for its so called Silver Acacia that can be seen throughout the country and in its direct environment.

Laubaya is home to a large mountain gorilla population as well as several other primate species. In addition there are approximately 857 confirmed bird species living in Laubaya.

The climate is tropical with stable temperatures between 15 and 28 C (59 and 82 F) throughout the year. Precipitation varies between 1,000 and 1,500 millimetres per year.

The country has a GDP per capita of around $1912, or $11.09 billion nominal. The country has not many natural resources and the manufacturing sector is underdeveloped. 55% of GDP consists of agriculture. A large part of the population lives in poverty. Recent improvement of the country’s banking sector and tourist industry has brought a little bit of economic relief.

Under past dictatorships, a large deal of money was spent to improve the nation’s infrastructure and to construct a railway network. Funding mostly stopped after the regime was toppled in 1993 and many roads and railroads need urgent maintenance.

Laubaya is a member of the Assembly of Nations.
