Burton is the capital and largest city of the state of Passamaqueets, also being an important city in the Southeast Region, with a population of XXX inhabitants. Burton is one of the oldest cities in the Federal States, founded in 1670 by settlers from Ingerland. The city itself is one of the most important centers of higher education in the FSA, due to its well known colleges and universities like the Halesworth University, the Passamaqueets Institute of Technology (also known as 'PIT'), the Williamshire College, the University of Passamaqueets, the Ipswich College of Music, etc. The cost of living here is one of the highest, and is ranked between the best places to live in the FSA, due to its dynamic economy, prestige of universities, liberal thoughts and enviromental sustainability.

Education

Elementary, middle, and high schools

The public schools in Burton enroll around 55,000 students attending 130 schools. On the other hand, private schools enroll 3,000 students in the whole city.

Higher education

Burton is well kown by its higher education system, since it's home of renowned universities and college located in its metropolitan area. The Halesworth University is internationally known as one of the best universities, not only of the FSA, but of the world, being in the top position of many rankings of universities. It is the oldest university in the FSA, founded in 1672, and is now an important research center.
