Doramas is the capital and most populous city in Lossira, and serves as the political and economic center of the country.

History

There has continuously been a settlement on the site since 1117 CE, founded by a small group of Sirans after splitting from a larger settlement to the south. Some scholars think religious differences may have been the cause of the split.

Geography

Doramas is situated along the Bomme River, about 25km inland from the Asperic Ocean.

Rail

Doramas is served by the Doramas Metropolitan Sub-Surface Railway, the city's metro system. It is comprised of three lines built at cut-and-cover level and seven deep-level metro lines. The city center is enclosed within the Circle, which is made up of four of the deep-level lines, often running multiple lines through the same stations on independent tracks.

Doramas contains four mainline rail termini, each covering services to different parts of the city. Raman Parade station covers services to the country's northwest, as well as the line of high-speed track to Çetarha, and beyond to Akvo, in neighboring Mordeto. Farsann National, in the historic old town, runs services to the northeast and along the northern section of the country's eastern border. Dockland station, in the southeast, is the historical station for freight, but several platforms at the station are reserved for passenger services running south along the eastern side of the river. National South, the biggest of the four stations, handles the bulk of the services running down to the south and to most of the other main metropolitan centers in the country. All services run left-handed except for the High Speed line between Raman Parade and Akvo, which runs on the right-hand side.
