Mariner is the third largest city in Podolian Republic, located at the south of the country. Being founded in 1734 at the head of Iksha river delta 10 kilometers away from Egalian Lake shores, it has advantageous geografic position. Mariner is serving the second largest trade port of the country after one that is located in Ehalska Pristan.
Being often referred as The Trade Gate of Podolia, Mariner is important commerce, transport and political center of the Republic. Its business district boasts numerous offices of state, private, international companies which are located in and skyscrapers and other tall buildings.
The population of the city is estimated at approximately 195 thousand people (slightly less than a third of Chervonograd), and it has not changed much in last years. Mariner is the administrative seat of Juhovy okrug (i.e. Southern region) of Podolia.
