The province of Montes Azul in Latina has the name from the high mountains in the eastern part of the province. This mountains are the southern part of the Sierra Grande. The Flag shows the hills and the sky.
Greatest town and capital is Belsante with 585.809 inhabitants. Next towns are Cidudad Azul (221.945 inhabitants) in the north of the province and Sardinas (122.604 inhabitants) at the northern part of the coast.
- Motorway = # 9 (Latina - Delta - Belsante - southern boundary) and trunk-road # 20 (Belsante - to the eastcoast at Pugall or Porto Colon). The road Los Olives - Tanax - Vucobalis is in upgrade to a primary road and will get the free # 97.

The eastern part of the province are the higher mountains of the Sierra Grande. Here the Sierra has no high main-chain of mountains as in the north, but some parallel ridges. Highest mountain of the province is the Monte Estegonio in the southeast with 4087 meters.
Rivers flow regulary to the southwest or west. Only the greatest river of the province, the Rio Serpentes (Snake river) flows first to the east, make a great loop and flow then to the west.
