Speed limits by country

A road speed limit is the limit of speed allowed by law for road vehicles, usually the maximum speed allowed. Minimum speed limits are also applied in some roads in specific circumstances. The following table lists the default speed limits that apply to different types of vehicles traveling on three different types of roads. Actual posted speed limits may vary. Speeds are listed in kilometers per hour (km/h), with nations using miles per hour also listing theirs in parentheses. Enforcement tolerances are also listed.
