Overwikification talk 4.16.19-4.18.19

Hi, I've seen you have changed some airline codes. Was this approved by the owners?--Mstr (talk) 03:33, 16 April 2019 (CEST)

Are you going to respond? You have been massively editing in the wiki today. You must have noticed this. --Toadwart (talk) 16:49, 16 April 2019 (CEST)
Hello! So sorry for the delay. I did not realize I had messages. No, I did not talk to all of them yet, but I am still in the process of doing so. Thank you for your concerns, they have made me aware. I try not to edit others' preset data, but I have to in cases like the airline codes. Obviously, this will require lots of future editing, and I am willing to help make the change, but the only way to continue is by getting approval. I have messages all owners of airline codes that have changed since my "arrival" on the editing page. If you would like to help, please do so after messaging me back first. Great talk! --CharlieG (talk) 16:57, 16 April 2019 (CEST)
Okay, so, instead of messaging multiple users, I'm sticking with 'AR' in spite of Vega's 'AR' because of regional and international differences. These, while not widely accepted, are still allowed under the right conditions. Get back to me on your thoughts. --CharlieG (talk) 17:02, 16 April 2019 (CEST)
I'd like to tell you that it is not accepted to modify other users' work, renaming their codes or anything similar. Only in the case that they approve any changes it is okay. Please be also aware of overwikification. You've added many places which do not exist on map yet, so please, first map them before adding them to the wiki.--Mstr (talk) 17:26, 16 April 2019 (CEST)
I would really have to thank you for your confirmation of what's expected here in the OGF Wiki. I realized that, while my motives were only to 'wikify' areas that needed my input, I added more than I needed to or should have. I have always understood these rules--I guess I just bent around them yesterday, and this is unacceptable. No offense, Mstr (haha!), but I would like it if you did not change any of my other inputs. I am very thankful for your actions towards reverting instead of forcing me to do it manually, but I believe what you did already is enough. Have a great night. --CharlieG (talk) 23:13, 17 April 2019 (CEST)
If you don't immediately stop intentionally breaking the rules of this wiki despite the many warnings you've received from many users in the past couple of days (some of which you've attempted to delete from this user talk page) I'll block you from the wiki without warning you at all anymore. Have a great night. --Stjur (talkOGF) 00:26, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
How is that edit a violation? FictiveJ (talk) 00:30, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
Because it's adding nonsense about a country which is not really there. OGF:Overwikification. Artenia is really just a small muddle of motorways, in a small corner of the country, that's it. /wangi (talk) 00:56, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
Listen, please. I understand all of your concerns and I have stopped making unnecessary or untrue wiki edits. This is a real problem, and if someone edited my hard work on wiki pages, I would be mad as well. I do express concern for myself, but also for you all. First of all, I assure you, a ban is unneeded. Also, while most work on Artenia is in the form of transportation (motorways), it is still noteworthy compared to other users' styles, and I would like it if people could stop commenting rudely on my work. After all, editing countries is not what I do for a living, and I do not have all the time in the world to just add in every feature possible. That said, I am currently working on my transit system, airport, and geographic features (all of which are basic necessities to add to my country). Overwikification not a violation, but it is frustrating. Knowing what and what not to do is a given normality. Bad edits, like how I changed others' work, are violations of the OGF policy and, like mentioned, shall not be tolerated. The reason why I previously closed this talk thread is that I felt that the conversation was closed and I understood the content. --CharlieG (talk) 2:25, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
"Overwikification not a violation, but it is frustrating". Overwikification is against guidelines, I'd recommend you take heed of this. Focus on improving your mapping. /wangi (talk) 02:32, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
You don't get it, don't you. Now you dumped, not one but eighteen, links to nowhere to the transportation portal. What do you think the portal is for? It is there to provide information and guidance to other users' work. Does your addition does that? Definitely no. So, for your own good, stop it, please. --Toadwart (talk) 14:44, 18 April 2019 (CEST)
Oh, I am aware of what I did. I don't think you understand what I've been working on. These links will shortly be added, so do not worry, please. I just do not understand why I am the only one getting bashed in for incomplete links. Is there a problem with needing time for WIP projects? I place these links down so I have an idea of what my template will be based on. Please do not comment on this entry unless it's very important. I am filling out areas that will apply to my country soon. Again, I thank you for your concern, but all of this negative talk is infuriating toward me. Trust me, please leave my work to myself. This is not exactly Overwikification if it is a WIP. There are some who would rather complete work, then wikify it, but I am allowed to wikify first for reference. Good day.--CharlieG (talk) 14:52, 18 April 2019 (CEST)

Discussion on OGF:Gobras City

Hi CharlieG, please have a read here on the talk page of OGF:Gobras City. Thanks! Squizie3 (talk) 21:40, 11 December 2019 (CET)

Evo - it's overwikification; a brand unrelated to your own territory and with questionable relevance to the map. /wangi (talk) 16:04, 5 October 2020 (CEST)

Hi wangi, sorry for the misunderstanding, but I am deleting the Evo wiki page for now and reuploading its complete form once I have uploaded the physical locations on OGF. Firstly, I've been collaborating with infinatious on this endeavor via Discord. The way it works is, although my county in the FSA is small and largely unimportant, it will be home to possible cloud computing and data storage sites for Technico. You might ask, what is Technico? It is what I'm splitting Evo into, so one company does not dominate multiple industries. Anyways, in order to keep yourself from messaging me again, I urge you to visit not just OGFC, but at least create a Discord account and DM us so this process can go faster. Thank you for understanding, I really am appreciative of it since I've been struck down for Overwikification in the past. CharlieG (talk) 2:02, 6 October 2020 (CEST)
This is not about how you come up with the content, nor when. It is that lists of fictional mobile phones, with the very real possibility you are planning to upload an image of each, is not what the wiki is for. /wangi (talk)
Well what do you suggest?? I am trying to first map physical locations of these companies so that I can make the wiki pages about them once they're established. If you are worried about me uploading every picture, thank you for mentioning that, because I will not. Plus, once I get the wiki page back up, it will be completely reformed based on how I'm splitting the original Evo into two companies. Do not fret, have patience.
