Administrative Divisions
Castellán is subdivided in 18 regions, which in turn are divided into 79 provinces. Additionally, there are two overseas territories (Castellanese: Territorios de Ultramar).
Regions
Regions are the first and main administrative division of the country. Despite Castellán being a unitary state, they have some degree of devolved competencies in order to manage certain aspects of administrative work, and possess parliaments and governments in order to manage those devolved affairs.
Provinces
Regions are further divided into provinces, which mostly deal with the administration of municipal councils. All regions have more than one province, with the only exception being the Morenas islands, which are constituted into a single province.
Overseas territories
There are two territories pertaining to Castellán that work as overseas territories and are not included in any region of Castellán: San Juan de Castellán, in Antarephia, and Bonisle and San Fernando, in Tarephia. These territories have a certain degree of autonomy from Castellán due to its remoteness to the central government, and are usually considered as "countries" within Castellán, despite being dependencies, due to the factors mentioned above.
