Clamash, officially the State of Clamash, is a state on the west coast of the Federal States. Clamash is bordered by Tauhon to the northeast, Sierra to the northeast, Riopoderos to the east, Aquilia to the southeast, Wahauja to the south, and Deodeca to the west.
Etymology
Clamash is named after the Clamash River. The river's name is derived from the Castellanese word "clamar," which early explorers called the river in reference to the sound of the Blanco Rapids. Over the years, the Clama River was Ingerishized to the modern name of Clamash.
History
Before Castellanese settlemeent, Native Archantan tribes, such as the Pahareek tribe, inhabited the area that now comprises of Clamash.
Unlike most of the states in the FSA, Clamash was never settled by the Ingerish. The Clamashegian coast was settled by the Castellanese in the early 1700s. Despite the fertility of the Henrietta River valley, the Castellanese only founded a few coastal settlements included San Ramon, Alaso, Canales, Mission, and Tara Harbor. After Deodeca's independence from Castellan, Clamash became a state in the nation of Deodeca. It was not until the early 1800s when Clamash became territory of FSA through the Wahauja Purchase. In 1866, the State of Clamash was admitted to the union.
